One of the challenges of camp cooking is the amount of time it takes.It’s not a problem if it is just the troop out camping and the schedule is a little more relaxed. But if it is an event with a fixed schedule – like a district camporee – then time is a little more of a concern.  So sometimes the grubmasters need something simple. This is an easy and quick recipe for a breakfast at camp. It doesn’t require a lot of preparation or ingredients, but you still get a good breakfast to start a busy day of hiking or swimming or biking or canoeing or …

Camp McMuffins

This easy camp breakfast can be made in minutes and will give you the energy for all of your camping adventures through the day.


  • Grill
  • Bowl
  • Skillet
  • Marshmallow forks (optional)
  • Foil


  • 4 English muffins
  • 6 slices ham cubed
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • Butter


  1. Prepare your fire.
  2. Split the English muffins and butter both sides. Toast over fire on the grill or on marshmallow forks. Whisk the eggs in a mixing bowl. Put the ham in a hot greased skillet and add the eggs. Scramble the eggs and ham until the eggs are set.
  3. Put 1/4 of mixture on to half of an English muffin. Top with 1 slice of cheese. Put the other half of the English muffin on top. Wrap in aluminum foil. The sandwiches will stay warm for about 15 minutes.
