Helping an Auditory Learner with Webelos Requirements

How to Help

Cayti sent in this question:

Hey, I am a Webelos I leader this year (going through again with younger son), but this time, I have a kiddo in our group who is solely an auditory learner. Are there any videos or games geared towards helping these kids memorize/learn the Webelos requirements?

Songs are usually very helpful to auditory learners. You can use a song like Trustworthy Tommy to help him learn the Scout Law. Or make up your own songs. The whole den will enjoy singing the requirements.

Chants are also helpful. Have the group make up their own chant or rap about the requirements. This will get everyone involved and most Webelos will enjoy it.

Look on the pages for individual Webelos adventures to find other fun ways to learn the material. There are games and songs which tie in to the lessons.

Trustworthy Tommy Song

Trustworthy Tommy Song

Scouts of all ages need to learn the Scout Law. This classic Trustworthy Tommy song will help them remember the twelve points of the Scout Law and to understand what the points mean.

Knot Songs

Marianna from Pack 377 in Fort Meade, MD sent in these two songs which she made up to help teach her Wolves about square knots and overhand knots. She is an early childhood coach by day and a Den Leader by night so her den often learns with songs.
