Pot and Towel Rack Camp Gadget

Camp gadgets are fun for Webelos and Scouts BSA. If you have some spare time at camp and are looking for something to do, get together with some rope, some knowledge, and some ideas.

These instructions are for a pot and towel drying rack. This is about as simple a camp gadget as you can make, so it is good for beginners. For the Scouts BSA out there, there is a small picture of a similar gadget in the Scouts BSA handbook; There are also good instructions for doing the lashings. There isn’t a lot of help with this sort of thing in the Webelos handbook. If you are a Webelos den leader and you want to learn more about lashings, the Scouts BSA handbook is a good place to start. I also have a good knot book I use a lot.

I’m not going to try to describe this in text. Instead, print the instructions below. They are very simple, but they do include a couple of large illustrations for those of us with aging eyes.
