Basketry Merit Badge for Boy Scouts

Basketry merit badge is always a favorite for our first and second year campers. It doesn’t have a lot of requirements and is pretty straightforward.

At our council summer camps they can make their baskets ahead of time. Then if they visit the councelor and show him the baskets they can complete the whole badge in an hour or so.

Of course some of them will do their baskets at camp. And I have to admit it is fun watching them weave and all of the advice they get from the other guys who have already completed the badge.
