Conflicts with Unit Fundraising

Dawn asked this question:

My pack was thinking of having a pancake breakfast, but our neighbor troop also does a pancakse breakfast as a fundraiser. If our troop does one, does that mean we should not? we will do ours at Applebees while the troop does thier on thier own. Just curious….

The best way to handle possible conflicts between unit fundraisers is to talk it out. What does the troop committee think? Are both fundraisers targeted at the same group of parents and relatives or at different groups? What is the time frame? Are they both in the same month or is one in the fall and one in the spring?

On the other hand, if you do some planning together you can promote one event at the other, share expertise and advice, and make both events better.

I agree. We need to talk to each other. Sometimes I’m frustrated with how hard it seems to be to facilitate communication between the pack and the troop.

Remember to fill out a Unit Money Earning Application. This should go through the District Committee which can help investigate if there are any conflicts with other unit in your area.

Try an alternative like Five Guys burgers, Panera or California Pizza Kitchen….
