Materials Needed
- empty film canister
- label from a can of food
- drill
- 1/2 inch drill bit
- scissors
- glue
Steps
- Drill a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of the film canister. An adult should do this.
- Cut the food label so it matches the height of the canister.
- Wrap the label around the canister.
- Trim the ends so there is about a 1/2 inch overlap.
- Glue the label in place.
- Let the glue dry.
- Slide the neckerchief through the hole in the bottom.
Notes And Variations
- Adults should handle all drilling.
- Photocopy and shrink labels if you want the full design.
- Use the most interesting part of the label if trimming.
- Soup and vegetable labels work well.
- Ask local photo shops for free film canisters.
- Make sure the open end of the canister is at the top so it looks like an open can.
