Equipment/Materials:
- 1 balloon (inflated)
Setup Instructions:
- Have the Scouts stand in a circle. Make sure everyone can reach the person next to them with their elbows.
- Inflate the balloon and make sure it is not overfilled so it doesn’t pop easily.
- Explain the rules of the game to the Scouts.
Game Play Instructions:
- The goal is to pass the balloon around the circle using only elbows.
- Start by giving the balloon to one Scout.
- The Scout passes the balloon to the person next to them, using only their elbows.
- The balloon continues to go around the circle, passed from elbow to elbow.
- Count how many times the balloon goes around without dropping it.
- If the balloon drops, start over and try again.
- Repeat the game, and see if the Scouts can beat their previous record.
Variations and Safety Notes:
- For younger Scouts, use a larger balloon and let them stand closer together.
- For older Scouts, make the game more difficult by spacing them farther apart.
- If the balloon pops easily, check that it’s not overinflated.
- Make sure the playing area is free from obstacles to avoid tripping or falling.
- If Scouts seem frustrated, remind them that teamwork and fun are the goals of the game.
