Donut Snowmen Recipe Instructions

Materials and Equipment

  • Small paper plates
  • Plastic knives or spoons
  • Napkins or wipes for clean-up
  • A table covering (optional)
  • Trash can nearby

Ingredients (per snowman)

  • 3 powdered sugar mini donuts
  • 3 thin pretzel sticks
  • A few mini chocolate chips
  • Red decorator icing (not gel)

Setup Instructions

  1. Cover the table to help with cleanup.
  2. Set out plates and napkins for each Scout.
  3. Give each Scout three donuts and three pretzel sticks.
  4. Put out a small bowl of mini chocolate chips to share.
  5. Share one tube of red decorator icing per group.

Recipe Instructions

  1. Place one donut on the plate.
  2. Push one pretzel stick down through the middle hole.
  3. Stack the second donut on top, pressing it down the pretzel.
  4. Add the third donut on top to make the full snowman.
  5. Break a pretzel stick in half. Push each half into the sides of the middle donut to make arms.
  6. Push mini chocolate chips into the top donut for eyes and a mouth. Add more chips down the front for buttons.
  7. Use red icing to make a hat on top of the snowman.

Notes and Variations

  • Younger Scouts might need help pushing in the chocolate chips.
  • If you don’t have decorator icing, use a gumdrop for the hat.
  • Use candy corn for noses if desired.
  • Be sure Scouts wash hands before handling food.
  • Watch for food allergies—especially with donuts and chocolate.
