The BSA Cyber Chip program encourages Scouts to learn how to use their electronic devices safely. Some of the issues the program addresses are protecting personal information, cyber bullying, appropriate use of social media, cell phones, texting, and netiquette.

Cyber Chip Requirements for Grades 9-12
Scouts BSA are required to earn their Cyber Chip. The Cyber Chip program helps teens understand the responsibility that goes with using electronic devices. Topics include cell phones, cyber-bullying, and internet safety.
Cyber Chip Requirements for Grades 6-8
Scouts BSA are required to earn their Cyber Chip. The Cyber Chip program helps youth understand how to use their electronic devices safely and responsibly.
Cyber Chip Requirements for Grades 4-5
Webelos working on the Webelos badge or the Arrow of Light are required to earn their Cyber Chip. The Cyber Chip program helps children know and follow the rules of online safety.
Cyber Chip Requirements for Grades 1-3
Tiger Cub Scouts, Wolf Cub Scouts, and Bear Cub Scouts are all required to earn their Cyber Chip. The Cyber Chip program helps children understand how to be safe while online. All Cyber Chips will expire annually.
