I hear people say, “Kids these days…” and then complain about how young people are not responsible or hardworking. When they do, I either bite my tongue or tell them how wrong they are. I will never agree with them.
They have not spent time with Scouts like you. You follow the Scout Oath and Scout Law. You set high standards for yourself. You are honest, kind, and helpful. You serve your community, respect others, and take responsibility for your actions.
You balance school, sports, family, and so many other activities. Even when life is busy, you find time to help others. When you make mistakes, you own up to them and try to do better. You do not quit. You keep moving forward.
This is why you give me hope for the future. You show what leadership and responsibility look like. You inspire others, just as others have inspired you. By living the values of Scouting, you are making the world a better place. Keep it up.
