Materials Needed:
- Empty toilet paper tubes
- Duct tape (any color or pattern)
- Scissors
- Ruler (optional)
- Ribbon, craft foam, or other decorations
- White glue or glue dots
Instructions:
- Cut the toilet paper tube into rings about 1 inch wide. Each tube makes about 3 rings.
- Tear or cut small strips of duct tape.
- Wrap the strips of duct tape around the ring. Cover the cardboard completely. Press the tape down firmly.
- Add decorations. Use glue to attach ribbon, foam shapes, or stickers. Let the glue dry.
- Use your finished ring to hold a napkin.
Notes and Variations:
- Let Scouts choose holiday colors (red and green for Christmas, orange for Halloween, etc.).
- You can use paper towel tubes if you want wider rings.
- Make sure Scouts use scissors safely. Remind them to cut away from their bodies.
- You can do this as a group or set up stations for each step.
- Younger Scouts may need help cutting the cardboard.
