I'm a cub master for a small pack and
0:13
have recently been put in an awkward
0:17
my bear den leader and I attended wood
0:20
badge training this past weekend and he
0:22
ended up in a patrol with the chartered
0:24
organization representative from my
0:29
unbeknownst to me the chartered
0:31
organization representative invited my
0:33
bear den leader to visit the troop the
0:38
I don't have an issue with an adult cub
0:40
scout leader visiting a troop but I do
0:42
think that out of common courtesy the
0:44
chartered organization representative
0:45
should have let me know about the
0:50
the issue I have here is that the den
0:52
leader came to the meeting with his bare
0:53
son in uniform and the son was allowed
0:56
to participate in the troop activities
1:00
when I asked the scout master he seemed
1:02
to think this was acceptable
1:06
I have yet to locate any written
1:08
information on the BSA website that
1:10
addresses this situation directly but I
1:12
believe from Fast trainings that this is
1:17
if I am correct where can I locate the
1:20
guidelines that address this I will need
1:22
to have a conversation with my bear den
1:24
leader and would like to have some
1:25
documentation as backup
1:29
I'm also concerned that my pack may
1:31
suffer repercussions if any rules were
1:37
this is not the case but at the very
1:39
least I will most likely have to explain
1:41
to the other parents in the pack why
1:43
their Scouts can't visit the troop until
1:45
they are Arrow of life even though
1:47
another Cub Scout did
1:50
any advice or Direction you can provide
1:52
will be greatly appreciated
1:58
while it is unusual for a younger Cub
2:00
Scout to visit a Scouts BSA Troop I'm
2:03
not sure any rules were broken here
2:07
if the troop was okay with it and the
2:09
parent was there and the activity did
2:11
not violate the age-appropriate
2:13
guidelines then I don't think you need
2:15
to worry that there was any sort of
2:20
even if there was a violation I think it
2:22
would be the scout master and his troop
2:24
who would be responsible not your pack
2:28
hopefully this bear cub scout had a good
2:31
time at the meeting and is now excited
2:33
about joining Scout's BSA in a couple of
2:38
viewers what do you think add your
