Ideas for a Pack Meeting about Faith

A Cub Scout is Reverent. According to the program helps, faith is “Having inner strength and confidence based on our trust in God.” Our pack is chartered by a church, so incorporating faith into our Cub Scout program is natural. If you are chartered by a secular group, it could be a little tricky to navigate. Here are some ideas:

  • Most faiths promote service, so do a service project.
  • Do a “church hike”. Hike a path around your neighborhood, pointing out different churches along the way.
  • Promote participation in Cub Scout religious emblems programs. A very wide range of faiths have their own emblems and there are some non-denominational emblems. There is a lot of good information on the BSA website.
  • Catholic units can earn patches from the Rosary series or the Footsteps of the American Saints series. They can also learn about Catholic scouting around the world through the International Awareness program. These are enrichment programs, not religious emblem programs. Information is available from the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.

What are your suggestions for incorporating the core value of Faith into your pack program?
