This is a traditional Native American dice game. The scoring systems seem to vary from one reference to another, so the system below is a simplified system which scouts should be able to follow.
Cub Scout Nova Award – Uncovering the Past (Archaeology)
Uncovering the Past is the Cub Scout Nova Award for archaeology. To earn this award, Cub Scouts explore topics such as artifacts, ecofacts, dig sites, and petroglyphs . They must also complete one of their adventures related to culture and history.
This award can be earned by Wolves, Bears, or Webelos.
Printable helps for requirements:
Pahsahëman is similar to football. It has been played by the Lenape of the American Northeast for many generations. These instructions include tips for adapting this game for use with scouts.
Looking Back Looking Forward is one of the Webelos/Arrow of Light elective adventures. For the Looking Back, Looking Forward adventure, Webelos learn about the past and create a time capsule.
Collections and Hobbies is one of the Wolf Cub Scout elective adventures. For the Collections and Hobbies adventure, Wolves start a collection and share it with their den. They also visit collection on display and play a game related to collecting.
The idea is to make a den time capsule which they add to from time to time – maybe every year at Blue and Gold time and after summer camp or when they earn their rank or do something special. Then, when they cross over to Scouts BSA, they open the time capsule and see all of the things they added.
Project Family is one of the Webelos/Arrow of Light elective adventures. For the Project Family adventure, Webelos learn about family history and discover different ways they can participate as a family member.
