This silly Princess Pat song actually has some real history behind it. Princess Patricia was a member of the British royal family. A Canadian infantry unit was named in her honor. She designed their regimental colors – a red flag with a purple circle in the center. In the middle were the gold letters VP, which stood for Victoria Patricia. The flag was called a Ric-A-Dam-Do, which means “cloth of your mother” in Gaelic.

My Turtle Swims Sideways
ZM sang this My Turtle Swims Sideways song at Webelos camp and LC sang it at Scout camp and they’ve continued singing it since. This song is just humor. (This is one of the most commented upon posts on my blog!)
Run Ons: They’re All Over and All Around! I Can’t Get Away!
Run ons are the little brothers of skits. They are very brief intermission in a campfire program. Sometimes it is just a single interruption to the program, sometimes they are in series.
We Don’t Have a Skit Skit
The We Don’t Have a Skit skit is great because it can be used with any number of Scouts. It is also a good skit to do with younger Scouts because they don’t have to remember many lines.
Skittles Skit
This skit, like many of the skits I have seen, is full of kid humor. That is why they like it so much.
Scouting Humor
Let’s not take ourselves too seriously. Have fun Scouting!
