Ride the Wind Day

August 23 is National Ride the Wind Day. This day celebrates human powered flight. So it is a good day to think about flight and the science that makes it possible.

Here are some ideas for your Scouting program:

• Fly a kite
• Play the Forces of Flight game
• Make paper airplanes
• Do an experiment to learn about Bernoulli’s Principle, which makes flight possible
• Work on the Air of the Wolf adventure
• Work on the Aviation merit badge
