In the Scouting programs, Scouts develop the skills needed for their futures. They also get to explore various careers and vocations by talking to people involved in different fields and through hands-on experience.
The Dr. Sally Ride Supernova Award is the bronze (first) level Supernova Award for Venturers. To earn this award, a Venturer must earn three Nova awards, complete the Scholarship exploration, and four additional Nova explorations. They must also complete two Supernova activities, participate in a science fair, and learn about careers in STEM areas.
I thought this would make a good Craftsman project for my Webelos. We'll probably try this in December. They could make these and then give them to someone as a Christmas present.
Forensics is one of the Bear elective adventures. For the Bear Forensics adventure, Cub Scouts learn about law enforcement methods which are used to solve crimes.
While working on the Dentistry merit badge, Scouts learn about how to keep teeth and gums healthy. They investigate the equipment and techniques used by dentists. Scouts explore careers related to oral health.
(Note: BSA retired this adventure on May 31, 2022. This information remains here for historical purposes.) Fix It is one of the Webelos/Arrow of Light elective adventures. For the Fix It adventure, Webelos learn to do simple repairs and home maintenance.
The Pizza Man song is a camp classic. This is one of those songs that has many different versions and they are all fun. All of the catch phrases rhyme (somewhat) with "man" and a lot of emphasis is usually put on the rhyme.
