Holiday Meeting Ideas for Cub Scouts

Todd sent in these ideas for your meetings this time of year. Thanks Todd!

Our Pack 1155 Holiday meeting usually includes some traditions others may like:

  • We encourage having fun while doing a good turn during this season. We ask families to bring new white socks, un-packaged and rolled into pairs. They serve as a pretend snow ball fight during the meeting (an annual favorite!), and become donations for the community afterwards.
  • Another fun one, is wrap-your-den-leader competition with paper, tape and bows.
  • This year, we’re trying a new competition in lieu of that one. We’re wrapping pinewood derby cars, in appropriate quantities for each den, inside shoe boxes. The competition will be for Cubs to take turns trying to open the boxes with oven mitts on. The winning den will get candy canes.

What are your favorite Cub Scout holiday traditions? Packs which are chartered by a church might have faith based activities. Or if your pack includes Cub Scouts from different faith traditions, you might have more generic holiday ideas. Whatever you do, feel free to share them below in the comments.
