Pack Bike Rodeo (and Riding My E-Bike)

I’m a little behind on posting some new things, but I wanted to share a few things our Pack has been doing during the pandemic. Planning pack activities has been a real challenge, especially with restrictions in our area.

In September we had a very successful bike rodeo though. This worked well because it was outdoors and we could all spread out. I did some safety instruction, we practiced some skills, and we had a bike parade around the parking lot. Everyone wore masks (and helmets of course) and it was very safe. A few siblings who didn’t have bikes brought their scooters.

I have lots of ideas on this site for putting on a bike rodeo.

The kids were fascinated by my e-bike. It had just arrived a few weeks earlier and I was loving it. I used to ride my traditional bike quite a bit, but as I have gotten – ahem – a little older I have found it difficult to ride in my hilly neighborhood. And I had pretty much given up riding.

But I am really enjoying my Rad Mini Step-Through e-bike. I ride it all over the neighborhood. I go to the grocery store, and the bank, and on other errands. It is fun to be enjoying bike riding again.

And it was really fun to have the bike rodeo and share the joy of riding with the Scouts and their families.
