Scouts didn’t sign up to be lined up in chairs listening to somebody talk. There is a time and place for instruction, but what the youth are really longing for is action. Make sure there is plenty of adventure of all sorts in your program. And if they have to sit and listen, make it clear that this is just so they can be prepared for the fun of Scouting.
