National Summertime Pack Award

Hopefully your Cub Scout Pack remains active during the summer. If your Pack has one activity each month, you can apply for the National Summertime Pack Award.

Don’t miss this opportunity to recognize all those who kept your Cub Scouting program active over the summer.

Requirements

Packs who qualify receive a streamer for their Pack flag. Plus, individual Cub Scouts who participated in all three activities receive a pin. The pin can be worn on the right pocket flap of the uniform and is a little different for each rank. Any dens with an average attendance of at least half their members at the three summer pack events also receive a den streamer.

At the end of the summer, fill out the application and turn it in to your Council service center so you can get your pins in time for your September Pack meeting.

The application includes a tracking sheet to help you keep track of participation.

You can learn more about it on the BSA website.

Aquatics Cub Scout Theme

Nothing is as fun on a hot summer day as being with your friends at the pool. These ideas will help you plan a fun aquatics activity for your den or pack this summer. Just make sure you follow the BSA safety rules.

We finished up our last activity on Friday night with scout night at the local minor league baseball game. Ours also including our transition ceremony and a trash pickup along the busiest highways in the county. Our den got our streamer last year but I don’t know if we will get it this year or not. I hope so 🙂

I turned in our report for the Pack this afternoon. We had our last activity last night, holding our now annual Raingutter Regatta. The boy’s had a blast making, shaping, designing, and then racking their “boats”.

So we graduate the boys in June. If you have a Tiger scout in the 2015-2016 program who participates in June, July, and August of 2016 events, do you present him with a Tiger pin or Wolf a pin?

    Thanks,

    Mike
