Wolf Say It Right

BSA Wolf Supplemental Den Meeting Plan O – Say It Right

BSA provides Wolf den meeting plans for Cub Scout den leaders. Today’s plan is a supplemental den meeting plan in which Wolf Cub Scouts learn about language and storytelling to fulfill some requirements from Wolf Elective 22 – Say It Right.

If you don’t already have the BSA den meeting plans, download BSA Supplemental Wolf Den Meeting Plan O  to follow along with this article.

Wolf Den Meeting Plans –  Say It Right

Preparation and Before the Meeting

This is a fairly easy meeting to prepare for. Just look at the requirements beforehand and gather up any materials you will need.

Gathering, Opening, and Business

See my Gathering Activities page for ideas for the gathering time.

Start with Wolf Elective 22a:

Say “hello” in a language other than English.

The information you need can be found in the Wolf handbook.

Next do Wolf Elective 22b:

Count to 10 in a language other than English.

This can also be found in the Wolf handbook.

Move on to Elective 22c:

Tell a short story to your den, your den leader, or an adult.

They can tell a true story or add some “embellishments” to make it more like a tall tale.

Next do Elective 22d:

Tell how to get to a nearby fire station or police station from your home, your Den Meeting place, and school. Use directions and street names. Have each Scout do this. You can change the destinations as needed to meet abilities.

Just have them explain how to get to someplace they visit often.

Finally, do Wolf Elective 22e:

Invite a boy to join Cub Scouting. Write out an invitation letter.

All they need are some pencils and paper. Have them take the letters with them to deliver to their friend.

If there is time, play a game. See my games page for ideas.

Do a closing flag ceremony if possible.

After the Meeting

The Wolves should help clean up the area and put any supplies away. Ask some parents to help you with your next event.
