Wolf Den Meeting Plan for Achievement 2 – Your Flag

Wolf Achievement 2 – Your Flag – helps instill one of the three Aims of Scouting in our young Scouts – citizenship. By learning about how to properly display the US flag, they learn about respect.

You will need to meet somewhere with a flagpole. If your normal meeting location doesn’t have one, try your local city hall, VFW post, or similar location.

With both of my dens, they really enjoyed this achievement more than I thought they would. Take some time to talk about what the flag represents and why we should respect it. The timeline in this plan is pretty generous and allows for some time to talk.

I found my den chiefs very valuable when working on this. They did a lot of the demonstration and added in some practical information. They had experience raising and lowering the school flag, so they were really helpful with that.
