This is the ninth in the series of Tiger den meeting plans provide by BSA. If you are using this series and you have done all of the meetings in order, then you have completed all of the requirements for the Tiger badge and you are focusing on electives. So at this point it is not so important to do them in order.
This meeting plan covers Tiger Elective 1 – How Do You Celebrate? and Tiger Elective 2 – Making Decorations. The celebration which the plan mentions is a Blue and Gold banquet, but you could adjust this plan for a holiday celebration.

Preparation and Before the Meeting
Most of the preparation for this meeting is gathering your materials. After some of the previous meetings, this one will seem like a piece of cake. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist the pun.)
Gathering, Opening, and Business
Prepare a gathering activity if you think you will need one. For some ideas, check out my Puzzles page. For your opening, you could try a simple opening flag ceremony or just say the Pledge of Allegiance.
Do Elective 1 first as suggested. I always do the more “talking” parts of the meeting first, in case they have a hard time settling down after something which is more fun. They will enjoy making the decorations and they will really enjoy frosting the cupcakes.
The kids will be excited and sugared up from their cupcakes, so keep the closing simple. You can always just do the Tiger Motto together – “Search, Discover, Share”. Or do the Cub Scout Promise or the Cub Scout Law.
After the Meeting
Make sure the other parents and the Tigers help with cleanup. Don’t do it all yourself. Sharing the work is part of being a member of a den.
