USA Cub Scout Theme

USA Theme for Cub Scouts

One of the Aims of Scouting is to promote citizenship. With a USA theme, Cub Scouts can learn more about our nation. They can explore its history and think about their rights and duties as citizens.

A few ideas for this theme are listed below, and more will gradually be added. Organize a pack meeting or den meeting around them. Or plan an overall theme for your Cub Scout year and add an element or two from the theme into your program each month.

In this picture bingo game, the cards have images of the states with the capitals on them. As each state name is called, players must try to find the capital on their card and mark it.

Red White and Blue Bread Braid Recipe

This is a recipe for cooking with Cub Scouts. This is a little more involved than some recipes I used with my Cubs, but they really enjoyed kneading the color into the bread. And even if the colors don’t come out bright red, white, and blue, Cub Scouts will enjoy eating fresh baked bread.
