5F – Family Activity: Go outside and watch the weather and Character Connection: Faith
5D – Den Activity: With a crayon or colored pencil and a piece of paper, make a leaf rubbing.
5G – Go See It Activity: Take a hike with your den.

Leave No TraceCub Scout Leave No Trace Award  While you are doing your outdoor activities, your Cub Scouts can earn the Cub Scout Leave No Trace award.

 

JungleOctober Cub Scout Theme - Jungle of Fun (Responsibility)  This theme revolves around the ideas of conservation and using natural resources wisely with an emphasis on how we treat other living beings.

 

TreeBSA Tiger Den Meeting 5 – Let’s Go Outdoors and Song Time  This is the fifth in the series of Tiger den meeting plans provide by BSA. If you are using this series, it works best if you do the plans in order. So do the previous meetings before this one. This meeting plan covers Tiger Achievement 5 - Let's Go Outdoors. It also completes Tiger Elective 6 - Song Time.

 

Forest HikePack Activity - Plan a Hike  Do you have a Pack hike planned for this spring? If not, now is the time.

 

WeatherWild Weather Adventure Game  This is a board game I came across recently on the NASA Space Place website. It is going to take a little time for you to print and prepare the materials, but I think this would be a hit at any weather themed scout meeting.

 

Forest HikeOutdoor Essentials for Cub Scouts  Even as winter approaches and it gets to cold for the Cub Scouts to get out tent camping, we can still get them outdoors on a day hike. Make sure your Cub Scouts know the 10 Outdoor Essentials.

 

Cub Scout Outdoor Activity AwardCub Scout Outdoor Activity Award  If your Cub Scouts attended day camp or resident camp over the summer, you might want to encourage them to work on their Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award.

 

Forest HikeHiking Safety (Front Country)  These guidelines are appropriate for a front country adventure in an area like a park. That is the only type of hiking which is appropriate for Cub Scouts. If you are going on a back country hike, then you need to consider some other safety rules, like bringing a fire source and knife.

 

Hiking Belt LoopHiking Belt Loop for Cub Scouts  Hiking is one of the new additions to the Cub Scout Academics and Sports Program. I really like this added incentive to get our Cub Scouts outdoors.

 

LeafOutdoor Scavenger Hunt  Doing a scavenger hunt while hiking will help scouts really explore the world around them while they are walking. This post includes a suggested list in printable format.

 

TreeTiger Den Meeting Plan – Let’s Go Outdoors  A den meeting plan to fulfill Tiger Achievement 5: Let's Go Outdoors and Tiger Elective 33: Cleanup Treasure Hunt.

 

LeafLeaf Print Craft  Make a print using leaves and paint. Cub Scouts can use this to fulfill or enrich Tiger Requirement 5D, Tiger Elective 2, Tiger Elective 12, Wolf Elective 12, Bear Elective 12, Webelos Artist activity badge, or the Art belt loop and pin.
