Bear Den Meeting Plan: What’s Cooking? ZM's den had a blast when we did Achievement 9 - What's Cooking? We were able to use the kitchen at our church, which made this achievement fun. I'm always amazed when I do cooking achievements with Cub Scouts that some of them rarely cook at home. For those Scouts, these achievements are especially exciting. I always enjoy it when their parents pick them up and they ask if they can start cooking at home.
Sharksicles Recipe Nobody wants to go out swimming and meet up with a shark! But if you are at a Cub Scout meeting and the shark is your popsicle snack, that is another story. So to go along with this month's aquatics theme for Cub Scouts, here is a snack idea.
How to Make Homemade Popsicles Popsicles are a great summer treat. And the ones from the store are very convenient, but sometimes it's fun to make your own. Banana Boats This is a classic camp recipe. It is easy and doesn't take many ingredients. Enjoy some while spending an evening around a campfire.

Red White and Blue Bread Braid Recipe This is a recipe for cooking with Cub Scouts. And even if the colors don't come out bright red, white, and blue, Cub Scouts will enjoy eating fresh baked bread.
Hearty Minestrone Recipe Although this recipe has "minestrone" in the name, it is more like a stew than a soup. So if you are looking for a traditional minestrone recipe, keep searching. If you are looking for an easy to put together camp meal, then try this.

Dad's Favorite Star Cookies Recipe Here is another Christmas cookie. These are not very sweet. ZM and LC like to sprinkle these with colored sugar before we bake them.
Candy Cane Cookies Recipe ZM really enjoy making holiday treats. To him, if it has a special shape, that makes baking extra fun. So these are a good Christmas treat to make with Cub Scouts. They don't have a strong mint flavor, but are more like a sugar cookie.
Foil Pack Dinners The most typical foil pack ingredients are ground beef, potatoes, carrots, and onions. But don't get stuck in a rut! Try some new combinations.

Herb Casserole Bread Recipe Fresh baked bread tastes wonderful when you are out on a chilly campout. This is a casserole bread which is pretty easy to make.
Candy Corn Mix Recipe You could count this for Bear requirement 9b: With an adult, make snacks for the next den meeting. It isn't the healthiest thing in the world, but it probably a little better than the bags of chips or ding-dongs the parents used to send for our den when we had our meetings right after school.
Apple Crisp Recipe for Cub Scouts Cub Scouts love to cook. They might need some help peeling and cutting the apples for this recipe, but they should be able to handle the rest of it with supervision. And they will love getting their fingers messy making the crumb topping.
Spaghetti Dinner I am taking my Webelos I den camping this weekend. We're going to make this for dinner Saturday night. We're going to serve it with fruit, salad, and garlic bread.

Soil Sample Cupcakes Recipe Scouts always enjoy playing with their food! This would make a nice snack for any den meeting based on one of the ecology lessons.
Easy Scrambled Eggs at Camp Scrambled eggs make a great camp breakfast. They are easy, quick, and provide a substantial meal for Scouts preparing for a busy day. But getting the eggs to camp is not always so easy.

Green Chili Stew Recipe This probably isn't very authentic, but it is a tasty stew which is easy to make at camp. Serve a nice green salad with it and you have a meal!

Ticks on a Toilet Seat Recipe What's the best way to get a picky eater to have a healthy snack? Make it funny!

Firecracker Burgers Recipe Boy Scouts and Venturers can make this one at camp or your Cub Scouts can help you make this for the Fourth of July to help fulfill their cooking requirements.
