You might not be aware of one program offered by the Boy Scouts of America which seeks to bring the values of Scouting to boys who might not be currently involved in a Scouting program – the Soccer and Scouting program.
This is a 12 week program for Cub Scout aged boys (1st through 5th grade). This program seems to be largely aimed at communities where soccer is an important part of the culture. By reaching out to these communities with a program which incorporates the fun of soccer with the values of Cub Scouting, BSA can continue its mission of developing the Aims of Scouting – Character, Fitness, and Citizenship – to a community of youth which might not be familiar with Scouting.
