Ultimate Belt Loop

Ultimate Belt Loop for Cub Scouts

Normally our pack meetings are on the third Thursday of the month. But that doesn’t work for us this month because it would conflict with Holy Thursday services.

So instead we are moving the pack meeting to Sunday afternoon. We are going to a local park to do the Ultimate belt loop. I don’t think anyone in our pack has earned this belt loop yet. I can’t imagine that our Cub Scouts won’t have fun throwing frisbees around in the park.

Since I think our younger Cub Scouts might have trouble with the catching skills required for ultimate, we are going to meet the requirements by playing disc golf.  I think the concept of throwing a frisbee at a target will be easier for them to understand also.

Webelos who earn the Soccer Belt Loop while a Webelos also complete part of requirement 4 for the Sportsman activity badge.

Ultimate Belt Loop Requirements

Do all three requirements:

  1. Explain the rules of ultimate or disc golf to your leader or adult partner.
  2. Spend at least 30 minutes practicing ultimate or disc golf skills.
  3. Participate in a game of ultimate or disc golf.

Rules are pretty much like golf, just with frisbees. We made the “holes” out of rope circles. It was a 9 hole course.
