Scout Sunday and Scout Sabbath

A Scout is Reverent.

Scout Sunday and Scout Sabbath are rapidly approaching. Scout Sunday is always the Sunday preceding February 8, or February 8 if it is a Sunday. The Saturday following Scout Sunday is Scout Sabbath.

Hopefully your Scouts will be participating in Scout Sunday and Scout Sabbath services at their places of worship. At our church, all of the Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and Venturers who have earned religious emblems during the past year are recognized, as well as Scouters who are receiving awards. We have a flag procession in with all of the Scouts in full uniform and then we process out again at the end.  Scouts also serve in roles such as as  readers and greeters.

If your place of worship does not do anything for Scout Sunday or Scout Sabbath, contact your religious leader and see if you can help organize some sort of recognition for your Scouts.

Scouting is a great form of youth ministry.
