I’ve been trying to come up with fun projects for my Webelos to do for their Craftsman activity badge. I’ve especially been looking for something novel for them to make for requirement 4: Make four useful items using materials other than wood that you and your Webelos den leader agree on, such as clay, plastic, leather, metal, paper, rubber, or rope. These should be challenging items and must involve several operations.
I came across this idea and thought they would enjoy it. After all, what Scout doesn’t enjoy using duct tape?

I have to laugh at this because my oldest son who is a second class boy scouts made this on his own. It is a great project for the boys to do.
I LOVE your forum. It has so many incredibly useful ideas for scouting. I want to thank you for all your work in putting it together!
LOL My older son also makes these, he is 1st Class Scout. Kids at school want him to make them one ALL THE TIME, he now charges $12 for them. since he also my Den Chief for my soon to be Webelo 1′s he is going to teach them how to do it.
As a den leader, I was looking for a project that could be completed quickly and inexpensively.
This was PERFECT!!! I made one and it took me 5-10 mins.
The boys can each do their own and will likely take them 15-20 mins with cutting tape and trimming.
Your site ROCKS! Thanks for all your efforts to support scouting.
