Pack Meeting Ideas for Positive Attitude

A Scout is cheerful. A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy

According to the old Cub Scout program helps, being cheerful is related to having a positive attitude:

Being cheerful and setting our minds to look for and find the best in all situations.

Our Pack is having a Pinewood Derby fits right in with positive attitude. To help the Cub Scouts understand the value of a job well done, we don’t just give awards for the fastest cars. We also recognize the fan favorite for each den (voted on by the Cubs) and the most “Cub Like” for each den, which is voted on by the Pack leadership. This last award is for the cars which look like the Cubs did most of the work on them.

If you are not doing your Pinewood Derby right now, here are some other ideas which might work for a Pack:

  • Have a conservation group come in and tell what they are doing to save a species or help injured wildlife. Talk about how Cub Scouts can use a positive attitude to make a difference to these creatures.
  • Have somebody with a disability come in and talk about how they have to do some things differently and how a positive attitude helps.
  • Have a sports skills clinic. Have some coaches come in and teach some different drills they can use to improve their game. Talk about how a positive attitude helps with sports.

What is your pack doing which relates to “positive attitude”?
