Reading and Writing Belt Loop for Cub Scouts

One of the things I love about Scouting is that it recognizes kids for achievements no matter what their interests.  Maybe you have a child who is not comfortable at all on the soccer field, but he has a great imagination and can tell a story like nobody’s business.

Here is a beltloop from the Cub Scouts Academics and Sports Program  for the bookworm  in your family.  After he completes these three requirements, he can start working on the pin.

Complete these three requirements:

1. Visit a library and get your own library card. Check out and return a book.
2. Write a letter or a short story. Read it to your den or family.
3. Keep a diary of your activities for one week. Read it to your den or family.
