One of the things I love about Scouting is that it recognizes kids for achievements no matter what their interests. Maybe you have a child who is not comfortable at all on the soccer field, but he has a great imagination and can tell a story like nobody’s business.
Here is a beltloop from the Cub Scouts Academics and Sports Program for the bookworm in your family. After he completes these three requirements, he can start working on the pin.

- Visit a library and get your own library card. Check out and return a book.
- Write a letter or a short story. Read it to your den or family.
- Keep a diary of your activities for one week. Read it to your den or family.
