To earn the Venturing Ranger award, a young man or woman must complete eight core requirements and four electives. One of the core requirements is emergency preparedness.
By completing this requirement, a Venturer is not only prepared to deal with emergencies which he or she encounters, but has also passed this knowledge on to others.
Venturing Ranger Award Core Requirement – Emergency Preparedness
- Discuss potential disasters and emergency preparedness with your family and then set up a family emergency plan.
- Build a family emergency kit.
- Make a tabletop display or presentation on what you have learned for your crew, another crew, a Cub or Boy Scout group, or another youth group.
